Welcome to the Cairns Bluewater Game Fishing Club Inc.

Club History
The club was established in 1999 as the Half Moon Bay Game Fish Club,and became incorporated in 2004. Half Moon Bay Game Fish Club changed it's name to Cairns Bluewater Game Fishing Club Inc in 2007 and operates out of Bluewater Marina and Cairns Marlin Marina.

Why We Fish
Our Misson is to actively promote and support tag and release and to improve the image of game fishing and educate anglers.

Cairns and the Great Barrier Reefs are renowned for it's Black Marlin grounds around the world,with juvenile Marlin and Sailfish July to March,with the Big Black Marlin usually arriving September to December months.

The club conducts competitions for it's members, the local community and anglers from all over Queensland. Our main event is our annual Cairns Bluewater Billfish Tournament in August which runs over three spectacular days.

Cairns Bluewater Billfish Tournament attracts anglers from local, national and overseas regions! Previously, our events have been a qualifyer for the IGFA Offshore World Championships held annually in Costa Rica.

We actively promote tag and release.

Cairns Bluewater Game Fishing Club is affiliated with:
- The Queensland Game Fishing Association (QGFA);
- The Game Fishing Association of Australia (GFAA); and
- The International Game Fishing Assocation (IGFA).

Sponsorship is integral to the success of our events, particularly the annual Cairns Bluewater Billfish Tournament, which contributes to increasing interest in competitive fishing for old and new anglers, juniors and seniors. We thank all of our wonderful sponsors, past and present as the generosity from our supportive sponsors ensures the success of the club's workshops and fishing tournaments.

2023 will hopefully bring on some new amazing sponsors and sees the return of many committed sponsors! Prize or Voucher categories are also welcome.
