Why We Fish
Our Misson is to actively promote and support tag and release and to improve the image of game fishing and educate anglers.
Cairns and the Great Barrier Reefs are renowned for it's Black Marlin grounds around the world, with juvenile Marlin and Sailfish July to March, with the Big Black Marlin usually arriving September to December months.
The club conducts competitions for it's members, the local community and anglers from all over Queensland. Our main event is our annual Cairns Bluewater Billfish Tournament in August which runs over three spectacular days.
Cairns Bluewater Billfish Tournament attracts anglers from local, national and overseas regions! Previously, our events have been a qualifyer for the IGFA Offshore World Championships held annually in Costa Rica.
